The Dorchester

Landmark Renovation of The Dorchester
The Dorchester is undergoing its most extensive renovation since 1989, delivered in three phases while the hotel remains operational. Works include upgrades to public areas, comprehensive guestroom refurbishments, major MEP and acoustic improvements, and the addition of a new destination restaurant and bar with panoramic views of London, alongside the renovation and extension of the renowned Penthouse Suites. Jonny Sin was Project Director from 2019 to 2025, leading the design of the ninth floor and securing planning and listed building consent for this Grade II listed landmark.
“Jonny has an innate talent for learning, and he has leveraged this talent over the years, from his time as our Project Manager for the Dorchester Hotel renovation (2019) to his current role as Board Director at RSA. He has a deep understanding of what a hotel represents, especially in the luxury and high-end sector. This in-depth knowledge adds value to clients and hotel developers from day one. He has great creative talent and always provides proactive solutions that benefit the project and, in turn, the client's interests. In recent years, he has been involved in two of our projects in Europe, providing impeccable leadership and team management. He is a loyal, faithful, and, above all, honest person. He is an absolute asset, and I hope to continue working with him on many projects in the future.”

“During my time as Regional Director and General Manager at The Dorchester, I worked very closely with Jonny. Together with the wider group of interior design teams, corporate colleagues, contractors and I, Jonny collaborated on the conceptual redesign for the significant reimagining of this global icon. Jonny came with creative design recommendations for new spaces as well as honouring the history and legacy of The Dorchester. At all times Jonny was the consummate professional; calm, poised and solution oriented.”
